Scotty begins to wake up, just like his dad, grunting, streching, arching his back, and rubbing his eyes vigorously. He continues to squeak and make ridiculously silly baby noises, but doesn't cry. His wonderful mother hears his noises from the kitchen and appears in front of his swing.
Wonderful mother: "Scotty! Hello sweet boy!"
Scotty: big smile
Wonderful mother: "Did you just smile at me?!"
Scotty: happy noise! big smile!
Wonderful mother: "Eric! Come look!"
Eric: "What?"
Wonderful mother: "He smiled at me!"
Scotty: big smile!
Eric: "You're smiling! Smile for daddy..."
Scotty: big smile! happy noise!
Scene 2, Thursday morning, 9:14 am (yay!), in his crib:

Scotty begins to wake up with little squeaks and wiggles. Meg looks at her cell phone to see what time it is--9:14am, hurrah! She delightedly appears by the side of his crib.
Meg: "Good morning sweet boy! You slept so well!"
Scotty: big smile!
Meg: "You're smiling at me again! It has to be because you recognize me and love me!"
Scotty: big smile! happy noises!
It's happened twice in a row, so I consider it official and not just coincidence or gas.
I've never felt so appreciated in my life :o)
